Nutmeg (Torreyacalifornica )
Nutmeg is a member of the yew family and has a very fine textured yellowish wood
with a slight tint of green.
Very strong, native peoples used this wood for bows, yet it is lovely enough
for fine furniture and cabinetry.

Tan Oak (Lithocarpusdensiflorus)
Tan Oak is a very fine hard wood, strong, whitish in color, easily worked with
a hand plane, machines true and clean. Limited Supply

grade, and dryness.
Chinquapin (Castanopsischrysophylla)
Chinquapin is one of the fine hardwoods of the Pacific Northwest. It is fine textured,
reddish in tone, and easily worked.
Primary uses include flooring, furniture, and cabinetry.

Pine (Pinus Muricata)
Pine is a strong, tough, framing material. However, it is not highly resistant to the
elements.

Monterey Cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa) and Mendocino Cypress (Cupressus Pygmea)
The lumber from these two cypress have similar appearance. It is blond in color,
sometimes with small streaks of reddish-brown or gray.
Cypress is a moderately slow growing tree. The wood is decay resistant and
slightly harder than redwood.
Cypress makes lovely cabinetry and beautiful paneling.
